The Photo Hunt subject today at TN Chick’s is “small”.
I like small creatures…..tree frogs, bees, worms, spiders,butterflies…….it’s so interesting to watch them. Right now I’m seeing lots of hummingbird moths which are impossible to photograph. For me anyway. One of my favorite little creatures is the lizard. I have beaucoup lizards in my yard year round and I like to watch them scurry about. My photo today is one of a series that I took of this lizard jumping all over my bromeliads one day.
“This is what I wished for, hoc erat in votis, a bit of land, oh, not so very large, but fenced in, to avoid the drawbacks of a public way; an abandoned, barren, sun-scorched bit of land, favored by thistles and by Wasps and Bees.”
~~~Jean Henri Fabre in “The Passionate Observer”
That’s a superb photo! The color, the composition and that particular plant and type of lizard are very photogenic too. I’m impressed. I happen to really like lizards too. I’m new to Photo Hunt – 1st time!
What a cute lizard, and that isn’t something I’d normally say.
Lizards are cool. I like them so much that I have removed them from my Gumbo recipe. Very nice shot.
D-BB,
Salamanders (a little creature that creeps me out) are a suitable substitute.
Marvelous photo! I remember living in Florida and having these little guys all around, often in the house setting up a mad chase to get them back outside so they could live a long happy life. Love the lushness. Hope you have a wonderful holiday!
