Grooming and a coupla other things
“I’m so happy. Cause today I found my friends. They’re in my head. I’m so ugly. But that’s ok. ‘Cause so are you. We’ve broke our mirrors. Sunday morning. Is everyday for all I care. And I’m not scared. Light my candles. In a daze cause I’ve found god.Yeeeaaah………..yeeeaaahhhhhh……”~~~Lithium by Nirvana
Yeah, I was jammin’ to this song with 104.1 The Rock of New Orleans on the drive to work this morning. Yesterday Rod read the list of the top 20 rockin’ songs in the last 20 years (as per some mag in the UK). Nirvana’s Smells Like Teen Spirit was deemed #1 but in my mind, Lithium is the more rockin’ song and one of my favorites. Remember Delauna’s exceptional rendition on last season’s American Idol? Hot, hot, hot!
This morning Rod and Theresa did a phone interview with the(hot)forever-hunky(hot)Joe Namath who has a(hot)new biography out. Yeah, I’ll be (hot)reading it. What a(hot)classy man!
In between jammin’ and listenin’ to the(hot)honey-drippin’ voice of(hot)Joe, I was thinking about my eyebrows. Looking in the mirror this morning I noticed some straggly hairs that need to be plucked but my tweezers were mysteriously(men!)missing. No, I don’t have my brows professionally done. Maybe I should, seeing how abundant they are, but there’s just something so odd to me about paying someone to rip the hairs out of your face. (I see nothing wrong, however, about paying someone to rip the back hair off a man – oogie! Get rid of it!) Guess I’m just not with it in that area. Besides, my husband tells me men don’t look at our eyebrows anyway. (I was shocked to hear this!) He says the same thing about fake nails – another grooming with it woman thing I don’t do. While I don’t notice a woman’s eyebrows, I do notice their nails. Fake nails do look nice – providing they aren’t the long, curved talon variety decorated with bling and do-dads. If you’re over 15 you’re too old for nail art. Sorry. It’s just tacky. Fortunately I was blessed with great nails. They’re hard, grow quickly and are very clean and white. I’ve almost never worn polish although I like how it looks (sometimes). I just hate the up-keep and I will not pay someone to do it for me. Besides the fact that I can feel the polish on my nails and it’s a weird, annoying feeling. Kind of like when I can taste certain shampoos and deodorants when I put them on my body. It’s a metallic taste and, yes, I know this is weird and you probably don’t believe me but it’s true.
I’m very sensitive, mon amies! (In addition to being weird.)
Well, enough chit-chat for one day. I’m out of ideas and I need food.
Later……
